So I asked for a rewrite of my copy, not a refund. This is the exact quote of his email reply: "My guarantee includes a rewrite until you’re happy, but since we already signed off on the project I wouldn’t be able to rework it."
The weird thing is, we never ’signed off’ on anything. Neither verbally nor in writing. And besides, he guaranteed results or don’t pay. His guarantee wasn’t ‘until happy’ or ‘until signed off’.
No. Here’s part of what his guarantee says: "Also, with any project I create for you, I fully guarantee it. In fact, what I write MUST thrill you or I’ll keep writing until it does at no additional charge."
Over the years I’ve been defrauded by one company after another. Not just dishonest copywriters. But also greedy ad agents who made huge boasts but in the end robbed me blind…just so they could get a commission check.
You’ve seen the kind… arrogant, cocky, aggressive… and who don’t have a clue about selling. They couldn’t even sell ice to people trapped in the desert’s heat if their own lives depended on it. And still, they are in charge of hundreds of thousands if not multi-million dollar ad budgets.
